FMN Laboratory team designed and manufactured the first prototype of the universal microfluidic laboratory-on-chip control device

5 june 2017

The first prototype of a universal microfluidic laboratory-on-a-chip microfluidic control device was designed and manufactured at FMN Laboratory. All elements of the device (microfluidic chip, printed circuit boards, holders, housing, actuators, etc.) have been designed and manufactured FMN Lab using the available technological base. The architecture of the electronic control part and the firmware of the programmable controllers have also been designed and implemented by team. The body and holders of the device were made using 3D printing and microfilling. The device is intended for conducting chemical and biological experiments and analyzes using specialized microfluidic “lab-on-a-chip”.

The device allows in a programmed mode controlling the flows / pressure of reagents in the channels of the microfluidic chip, realizing almost any sequence / recipes for conducting chemical and biological experiments and analyzes. The chip is connected to the device through practical holders equipped with quick-release connectors with reliable seals.
